The UAB Part-Time Job Fair is a career event for both current students and alumni seeking part-time employment opportunities. Are you looking to gain essential work experience? Maybe you need cash to ensure you can survive the demanding semester. Recruiters from local companies will be present and offering part-time job opportunities with the aim of easing the financial strain for students at the beginning of the academic semester. Don’t miss this opportunity to come out, network and apply for jobs!

UMOJA EN NOIR – New Student Welcome | Sept. 4, 6 p.m. | RSVP Required to Receive Location

Umoja (Swahili for Unity) is a Black Student Awareness Committee (BSAC) traditional celebration to welcome students, faculty and staff to UAB. Hosted by SMDP, this event aims to create community for new students by introducing them to the campus and community leaders – members of the UAB family who will walk alongside them during their four-year journey as Blazers. International Welcome Party | Sept. 5, 5 p.m. | Hill Student Center

UAB is the proud home to a robust and diverse population of international students, and there’s no better way to usher them back to campus than the highly-anticipated International Welcome Party!

Hosted by SMDP and International Mentors, this unique event offers students, as well as the UAB and surrounding Birmingham community, a fusion of cultural experiences in one location. Local vendors will provide an array of food options that expose attendees to Birmingham’s cuisine as well as culinary “reminders of home.” Student groups will also be present to educate international students about the involvement opportunities around campus. Black to School BBQ | Sept. 6, 12 p.m. | UAB Mini Park

The Black to School BBQ is almost here! Students are invited to attend this event which will feature music, free food, games and an opportunity to mingle with fellow classmates!
