UAB's SafeZone program is a three-part workshop series coordinated by Student Multicultural & Diversity Programs that aims to help students develop a deeper understanding of the concepts of gender, sex and sexuality and how these concepts impact their experiences and the experiences of others. - SafeZone 101 (Hill Student Center, Feb.14, 2018, Room 203 from 5-6:30 p.m.)
Dive into this introduction to gender, sex and sexuality. Participants will learn about basic terminology, campus resources and what it means to be SafeZone certified. - SafeZone Trans 101 (Hill Student Center, Mar.7, 2018, Room 203 at 5-6:30 p.m.)
Get a more in-depth understanding of gender, Trans identities and issues Trans people face on campus. - SafeZone 201 (Hill Student Center, Apr.18, 2018, Room 203 at 5-6:30 p.m.)
Examine your own identities, learn about systemic privilege and oppression and find out how you can become a social justice advocate on campus.
