Student Counseling Services will offer eating disorder screenings at locations around UAB on Thursday, March 2 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. On Monday, Feb. 27, there will be awareness activities and giveaways from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Campus Green.

On Thursday students, faculty, and staff can complete screenings and talk to UAB health care providers and counselors about issues related to food, eating, body and weight. The goal is to bring awareness to eating disorder epidemics on college campuses, and to provide resources to those affected as well as their family and friends.

This nationwide event occurs during National Eating Disorder Awareness Week (Feb. 26- March 4). Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear periwinkle, the color for eating disorder awareness, on March 2.

Screening locations include: Student Health and Wellness, New Freshman Residence Hall, Hill Student Center, Commons on the Green, West Pavilion, Education Building, and Employee Assistance & Counseling Center . This event is sponsored by Student Counseling Services and Employee Assistance and Counseling Center.
