SMDP looks to recruit new junior educators! Are you interested in being a Safe Zone trainer?

UAB Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs is looking for freshman and sophomore students who want to deepen their knowledge of gender, sex, sexuality power, oppression and social justice. SafeZone peer educators are a group of volunteer undergraduate students who provide education and training around these issues.

Through this program, students will have a chance to grow their public speaking and leadership skills.

So how do you become a formal trainer?

The junior educator program has a formal application and requires students to attend SafeZone meetings and trainings. After one semester as a junior educator, participants transition to full SafeZone educator status and can train other UAB students.

Sign up at uab.edu/safezone by Sept. 29, 2017 if you’re ready to lead!
