Over 1,000 people attended this mornings End Heroin Walk, hosted by the Addiction Prevention Coalition at Railroad Park.

“This is not a negative walk,” said Mike Vest, executive director of the Addiction Prevention Coalition. “It is a positive walk to help find hope and love. We can hug, laugh and cry about our loved ones.”

Lanyards were given out so those participating could write the name of who they were walking for and afterwards take it home.

“We also have a signature board that you can sign with your loved ones name,” Vest said.

The board was filled with names of those who lost their life to heroin overdose.

The event had preventative training sessions, a merchandise table, and tabling for recourse centers set up.
