UAB Employees, if you are looking for ways to get your little Blazers active this summer, UAB URec is here to help with the UAB URec Employee Summer Care program.

The UAB URec Employee Summer Care will be available to UAB employees and their little Blazers between the ages of 5 and 12 and will kick off on Tuesday, June 1 and run weekly through Friday, August 13!

Summer Care participants will engage in safe, socially distanced activities, including arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and pool time. Each day, your little Blazers will be able to check in at any time between 7:30 am and 9 am and parents will be able to pick them up anytime between 4 pm - 5:30 pm.

Additional safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all campers and staff, such as temperature checks upon arrival and social distancing. Masks will be required for campers and staff members for the majority of the day (they will be allowed to remove their masks during lunch and pool time). Participants will need to bring their own lunch and snacks and are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to refill in water filling station as water fountains will remain unavailable.

Starting on Monday, May 17, UAB employees will be able to register their children for the UAB URec Employee Summer Care program in person at the Membership Services desk or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. Weekly Registration Cost:

• $155 per child full week
• *$124 per child for prorated week
• (5% discount on 2nd child enrollment)

How to successfully enroll and pay for UAB URec Summer Care Program:

1. Complete the 2021 UAB Staff/Employee Summer Care Enrollment Form
2. Complete YP Liability Waiver Form
3. Complete Summer Care Medical Information Form (one per child)
4. Turn all three forms, the 2021 UAB Staff/Employee Summer Care Enrollment Form, YP Liability Waiver form, and the Summer Care Medical Information form, to Member Services

5. Complete Full Weekly Payment

University Recreation Employee Summer Care Refund Policies:

All refund and cancellation requests must be submit via the Refund Request Form below.

Refund Form

Full refunds will only be offered for the following situations:

• Medical withdrawal
• Military relocation
• COVID-19 – related withdrawal (camper exposure, positive test, etc.)

All other refund requests received 7 or more days prior to the first day of camp are eligible for a full refund, minus a $35 processing fee.

All other refund requests received fewer than 7 days prior to the first day of camp are eligible for a 50% refund.

Transfer requests can be made up to 7 days prior to the first day of camp. A transfer fee of $35 will be required for any transfer requests.
