  • User IDs and Passwords

    DOPM

    DOPM username and password is soley for DOPM related matters including:
            - Accessing DOPM Computers
            - Logging into Encrypted Laptops
            - Using Kyocera
            - Accessing DOPM Specific Websites

    HSIS

    Your HSIS username and password is typically only used for @uabmc.edu email and calendar related matters.

    Your UAB Blazer ID is a genral identification that allows you to access non- DOPM uab.edu related content.

    General Email

    HSIS provides @uabmc.edu email accounts. You may contact HSIS. at (2050 934- 8888.
    For help setting up your email, you may contact DOPM HelpDesk

    Webmail

    For uabmc.edu email accounts, contact HSIS.
    Access Email Offsite

    Redirect Emails From Blazer ID to HSIS

    1. Click here
    2. Type your Blazer ID and password when requested.
    3. In the box by “Enter mailbox address” put myHSISusername@uabmc.edu.
    4. Click [Submit]
    5. Then be sure to test this is working by sending a test message

    Multifactor Authorization for Webmail

    If you are off-campus, you are required to use a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

        1. Connect to UAB or UABHS Network
        2. Click on the https://myprofile.microsoft.com/
        3. Enter your full UABMC email address.
        4. Click Next
        5. If asked, select “Work or school account”
        6. Enter your email password
        7. Click “Sign in"
        8. Click "Update Info” OR “Security Info”
        9. Add security methods by clicking “Add method”

    There are 4 methods to choose from:
    Alternate phone
    Phone
    Security questions
    Microsoft Authenticator

  • Software

    Getting Started

    Do you need software for a work computer? We provide Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Teams,SPSS, SAS, Nvivo, Visio, Qualtrics, Tableau, EndNote and more.

    If a program is not free, determine which Oracle GL Account number you will use to pay for the program.
    Fill out the request on the askit website: https://www.uab.edu/it/home/
    Click "Order Services"
    Click "Software and Applications" on the left column.
    Once you have purchased/gotten the software and receive an email about that, notify us (dopmHelp) and we will install it.

    Virus & Antivirus Software

    Microsoft Security Essentials” is Virus Protection software free for UAB personnel.

    Kyroceras

    Kyoceras are machines that can print, copy, scan and most can fax, located throughout Medical Towers. You may follow these instructions for more information.

  • Remote Work and Zoom

    Remote Support Overview

    If you are working from home and you need to get set up to Remote In email a request to the HelpDesk.

    Connect
        1. Click the Microsoft Globe icone on the lower left corner
        2. Click All Programs
        3. Click Accessories 
        4. Click Remote Desktop Connection 
        5. Select Computer's Name

    Video Conferences

    Real Presence is a alternative video conference platform with high quality, minimum limitations, recording and flexible attendee capabilities.

    Zoom

    Fill Out Form: http://iits.uasystem.ua.edu/account-request.asp (If you answer "Yes" on that form to the question about HIPAA complaint or the PHI question, you will NOT be able to record.)
    Log into Zoom with the email address you signed up with and click "change password"
    You will receive an email with a link to change your password and then you will be done.

    If you are attending a Zoom meeting click on the Zoom link provided by the host.
