Resident Physician Benefits

Paid Leave

  • Vacation: 15 working days of vacation each year.
  • Sick Leave: 15 working days each year.
  • Parental Leave: Up to 4 additional paid weeks for parental leave and an additional 8 to 12 weeks unpaid leave is available but will necessitate residency extension per ABIM Policies.
  • Continued Medical Education – Upper level residents have 5 total working days available to be take in PGY2 or 3 to attend approved CME event. *Subject to approval.
  • Employment/Fellowship Interviews: There is a maximum of 5 weekdays in the PGY2 or 3 years allotted for interviewing/site visits to potential employers.
  • Scholarly Activity: Financial support for presentation at a scientific meeting.
