UAB honors students win big at national conference

UAB Honors program students won first place in three categories at a national honors conference

uab_honors_storyUniversity Honors Program students won first place for poster presentations in three of nine categories at the recent 46th annual National Collegiate Honors Conference, in which more than 500 member institutions were represented.

The contest was judged by honors faculty, program directors and college deans from institutions around the country. UAB students won in the following categories:

  • Kelsey Harnish, health sciences;
  • Sharmin Anwer, Deepa Etikala, Kevin Franks, Pooja Gajare and Brad Watts, programs and initiatives; and
  • Amiya Ahmed, Michelle Chang, Madison Duckworth and Sherwin Thomas, natural sciences and mathematics.
