Learn ways to be a positive influence working to stop sexual violence in the workplace and community and discover skills to support survivors of violence during Title IX Responsible Employee Training 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in Hill Student Center Room 203.
The interactive training will be led by Juliette Grimmett, founder of the Chrysalis Network, which works to train colleges and schools to build professional networks, create space for personal and professional growth and help communities successfully respond to and prevent sexual, domestic and relationship violence.
Training will focus on the positive impact that employees can have in creating a culture that works to stop sexual violence and provide skills to help them be effective pillars of support for survivors.

UAB’s Title IX Sexual Violence and Sexual Misconduct Policy prohibits sexual misconduct, including gender-based assault, harassment, exploitation, dating and domestic violence, stalking and discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
All UAB employees, including student employees, are required to report sexual misconduct to UAB’s Title IX coordinator via email firstname.lastname@example.org, using this online form or by phone at 205-996-1340.
If someone confides in you about experiencing sexual misconduct, listen, offer support and encourage them to seek counseling. If they are in danger, call 911 or contact UAB Police and Public Safety at 205-975-4434, then, report the incident as required to UAB’s Title IX coordinator via email email@example.com, using this online form or by phone at 205-996-1340.
Employees who experience sexual misconduct have the right to choose with whom they will speak, what they will say and when they will say it and be protected from retaliation, according to the UAB’s duty to report and non-retaliation policy.
