The LHSA Mobile Market offers a one-stop shopping experience for fresh, affordable food. The Mobile Market regularly visits neighborhoods across the Birmingham area. Now, thanks to Bundles of Hope's involvement, shoppers can receive diapers and feminine products at selected Mobile Market stops, completely free of charge.
Bundles of Hope, a Birmingham-based diaper bank, plays a crucial role by providing and distributing diapers, wipes, and feminine products. These essential items can be expensive and are not covered by other social service programs like SNAP or WIC. The diaper bank desires to help all families experiencing “diaper need” due to financial hardship by providing them with diapers and other essential items at no cost.
Importance of the Partnership
The partnership between LHSA and Bundles of Hope is a powerful response to an often-overlooked community need. Diapers, an essential and costly necessity for families with infants or toddlers, often pose a significant financial burden. By working together, LHSA can further achieve our mission of making good health simple by including diapers as an additional resource at Mobile Market stops.
Bundles of Hope has had a remarkable effect on the community, distributing more than 100,000 diapers a month. One
recipient, Sheena, shared her experience: “It got very expensive trying to buy diapers and other basic need items. Being able to get assistance with diapers through the diaper bank was a tremendous help to me in my time of need.”
