There are a lot of reasons to transfer to UAB. Maybe you've been easing your way into things at a smaller school. Maybe you found the scale of a mega-university overwhelming. Maybe Birmingham is your home, and a year away has made you realize this is where you belong. Whatever the reason, we're here to help you make the transition to becoming a UAB Blazer.

The minimum requirements for transfer students:
- a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) after completing 24 semester hours of transferable college-level work
- good academic standing at all of the other colleges or universities you’ve attended
If you have fewer than 24 credit hours of transferrable work, you’ll also need to meet the minimum admission requirements for entering freshmen:
- a minimum high school GPA of 2.25
- if you graduated from high school within the last four years, a minimum ACT score of 20 or SAT score of 950 (critical reading and math); UAB will accept the current and redesigned version of the SAT. Applicants may submit scores from either the current SAT, the redesigned SAT, or both. A writing score is not required.
Certain programs have additional requirements beyond UAB’s requirements for general admission. For details, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
