Get to know Sarah

I am passionate about...helping people feel respected and seen. I love seeing people reach their goals and having the privilege of encouraging them along the way.
I am interested in (affiliated student organizations/groups on campus)...Honors College, Undergraduate Research, Early Medical School Acceptance Program
Favorite thing to do in Birmingham?I love running or walking in Railroad Park. It is the perfect break whenever I simply cannot focus on school.
Describe something new you tried or did at UAB and how it made you feel.I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain through a faculty lead UAB program, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I progressed in my ability to interact in Spanish, immersed myself in an entirely new culture, and now have incredible friends from across the world. Despite the separation in land and language, I have never felt more connected to the people around me. The experience in its entirety was invaluable, and I am so grateful that I had this opportunity through UAB.
What does UAB mean to you?To me, UAB means family. Our campus is truly a community that encourages inclusion and personal growth. I feel so lucky to have met some of my favorite people and closest friends on this campus. I know that I have a support system for the hard times and a cheer squad for the good ones. I truly could not have imagined a better group of people to surround myself with, and I feel so blessed to have such awesome individuals in my life.
