Beginning Thursday, Feb. 1, the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center will present FreshStart! a free eight-week lifestyle program specifically geared to help cancer survivors adopt healthier behaviors.
Elizabeth (Cason) Benton, M.D., has received the 2018 Paul V. Miles Fellowship Award from the American Board of Pediatrics, an honor that highlights a pediatrician who is dedicated to improving the quality of health care for children.
The AMC21 School of Medicine Research Retreat met on Jan. 19, 2018, with focus on “Strategic Recruitment in the SOM.” As part of the AMC21-five-year goal to reach the top 20 in NIH funding, UAB will need to recruit a net of 80 to 84 funded faculty and retain and develop current faculty.

Using nonclinical navigators, the Family Navigation Program will provide support and services to children diagnosed with cancer and sickle cell disease, as well as to their families. The interdisciplinary team led by the UAB Department of Pediatrics was awarded a grant to create the Family Care Connect Program.
