Advising begins with Pre-Health Information Sessions during New Student Orientation.
Attend the Freshman Meeting in the Fall term to begin developing a portfolio.
All pre-health students are encouraged to meet with the pre-health advisor for individual advising sessions each semester.
H.I.P.A.A. Training for Pre-Health Students
The Pre-Health Advising Program is pleased to be offering training for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) this year. Students who are interested in training should email firstname.lastname@example.org with their full name, student ID number, and Blazer ID.
Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national pre-health honor society offers informative speakers and programs and is open to all interested students.
A Freshman Seminar is offered in the Spring term to introduce faculty in the sciences and strategies for academic success.
A Sophomore Seminar is offered in the Fall of the second year to assist students with the extra-curricular elements of their preparation.
Sophomores may be eligible for a Shadowing Course as an independent study credit. Students work closely with a health provider and a faculty mentor.
A Sophomore Meeting will cover interview skills and resume writing to help students prepare for admission interviews.
Sophomore Assessment Interviews introduce rising applicants to admissions committee members in the spring.
The Applicant's Meeting is held in the fall of the junior year to prepare students for the upcoming application cycle.
In the Junior year students work closely with the pre-health advisor as they prepare competitive applications to professional programs.
