Out Week

What is Out Week?

University campuses and community organizations across the country celebrate National Coming Out Week in October each year leading up to National Coming Out Day (October 11). At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, we plan to use a multidisciplinary approach to not only celebrating this week, but also educating ourselves on the diversity within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community. This week will feature speakers, artist, trainings, a spoken word performance, academic classroom lectures, and consultation meetings by local and national experts. This week will be in a part of the overall LGBTQ History Month Celebration at UAB lead by Student Multicultural & Diversity Programs – Office of Student Life.
