Confused about copyright? You're not alone. The legislation and case law history of copyright and fair use of copyrighted materials is vague and subject to different interpretations. In an academic setting, where masses of intellectual products are created by faculty, staff, and students and used daily in the course of their work, it is in our interest as individuals and an institution to clarify any questions we may have on the subject as they arise. This website was created by the "UAB Working Group on Copyright" to help answer those questions and provide the University community with information about copyright law as it affects them in their work.
