| Description |
Prior to performing a reptilase time, the lab will perform a thrombin time. If the thrombin time is normal, there is no indication for a reptilase time, and the reptilase will be cancelled. If the thrombin time and reptilase time are both prolonged, this implies fibrinogen deficiency or abnormal fibrinogen such as is produced in liver disease. |
