The School of Medicine Student Senate will host a golf tournament to benefit Birmingham AIDS Outreach on Saturday, May 10, at 8 a.m. at the Highlands Golf Course in Birmingham.
The tournament is a best ball, scramble format with 100 spots available. Individual tickets are $100 and medical student individual tickets are $70; a team of four can register for $350.
Birmingham AIDS Outreach is a nonprofit organization that provides free, life-sustaining services to individuals living with HIV and AIDS as well as free testing, prevention services and education outreach.
“Birmingham AIDS Outreach does a great job reaching out to help people in the community, and its mission is a great link between medicine and serving those in our community who need help,” says Cory Smith, president of the second-year class.
An after event at Avondale Brewery will follow the tournament at noon. Lunch—a pork sandwich, side and drink—will be provided by Full Moon Barbecue. Meal-tickets are $10 and can also be purchased online. The after event is open to everyone, not just those participating in the golf tournament.
