Latesha Elopre, M.D., MSPH, has been named director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Graduate Medical Education in the School of Medicine. Elopre is an assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
UAB School of Medicine’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) was selected to lead a deep-dive workshop at the AAMC Group on Diversity and Inclusion conference, entitled “Diversity and Inclusion Programming in Academic Medicine: An Interactive Development Model.”
The School of Medicine Office for Diversity and Inclusion celebrated its second annual Diversity Fair with food, drinks and entertainment. The 2018 Diversity Fair welcomed approximately 700 guests from across UAB Medicine.
UAB Women in Medicine launched its own chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) with a lunch event on Nov. 9.
Five women in the process of remodeling society were recently honored for their promotion to the rank of professor in the UAB School of Medicine with a special lecture and reception at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center.
