The School of Medicine welcomed its first-year medical students with an orientation July 23-27. During the weeklong orientation, the 2018 incoming class enjoyed academic sessions from faculty members and breakout sessions led by a group of second-year medical students who served as orientation leaders.

The UAB School of Medicine hosted more than 160 medical students, faculty, and administrators from 40 medical schools across the United States and Mexico at the Learning Communities Institute’s 14th annual conference Sept. 15-17.
First-year medical students representing four School of Medicine Learning Communities will go head-to-head in pitching their ideas for new courses and community service projects at the first Service Learning Celebration on Monday, May 23.
