Primary care is about more than just managing and maintaining physical health. The Pediatric Primary Care Clinic is providing mental health and additional services to treat the whole patient and improve outcomes.

This Primary Care Week, see how primary care providers and leaders across UAB and beyond are working together to meet Alabama's health care challenges and address critical shortages.
National Primary Care Week is Oct. 3-7. Join us as we celebrate primary care at UAB!
UAB’s primary care departments are leading the way for improved health outcomes and medical student education. Through student programs, community engagement initiatives and direct service, the Departments of Family and Community Medicine, Medicine, and Alabama AHEC are serving the state through innovative primary care efforts.
For patients with complex pediatric conditions, transitioning to adult care can be challenging. UAB and Children’s of Alabama have established the Staging Transition for Every Patient (STEP) Program to help these patients receive uninterrupted, expert care as they transition into the adult care model.
