UAB Cardiovascular Center to host annual symposium

3d heart 2017The Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host its sixth annual symposium, titled “Focus on Cardiovascular Electrophysiology,” Sept. 14 and 15 at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook.

The keynote speakers at the symposium will be Raymond E. Ideker, M.D., and Alfred L. George Jr., M.D.

Ideker joined UAB in 1994. He is Emeritus Professor of Medicine, Physiology and Biomedical Engineering, former holder of the Jeanne V. Marks Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Research and former director of the Cardiac Rhythm Management Laboratory.

George serves as chair of the Department of Pharmacology and director of the Center for Pharmacogenomics at Northwestern University.
