Posted on March 27, 2002 at 10:05 a.m. BIRMINGHAM, AL — The UAB faculty recently elected new officers for 2002-03. Effective June 1, Tim Heaven, D.D.S., associate professor of dentistry, will become the new chair. John A. Smith, M.D., Ph.D., professor of pathology, is the new chair elect. Theodore M. Benditt, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, was elected secretary. The new officers were elected by the 1,759 members of the university’s faculty in its 12 schools and two libraries.
