The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) chapter of Habitat for Humanity will present its second Gingerbread House Building Contest this week. Teams of five people will have just 45 minutes to build and decorate a gingerbread house. The children of Habitat homeowners will select the winning gingerbread house.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) chapter of Habitat for Humanity will present its second Gingerbread House Building Contest this week. Teams of five people will have just 45 minutes to build and decorate a gingerbread house. The children of Habitat homeowners will select the winning gingerbread house. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity International. The event is free and open to the public. Call Sandhya Kumar at 256-479-0698 for more details.

The event will take place Wednesday, November 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the UAB Blazer Hall, Residence Life Center (RLC), 1111 16th Street South.

The UAB chapter of Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization working to eradicate homelessness in the Birmingham area. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, UAB Habitat builds simple houses with the help of homeowner-partner families. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that builds simple, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.
