Phillips will perform “A Southern Prelude,” an original work for solo piano by UAB Associate Professor William Price in a free concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9.
As artist-in-residence, he will continue to represent UAB as an ambassador for the arts and serve as a mentor to young people who have an interest in the arts.
This is the first time an original work produced by the Alys Stephens Center will be developed and produced in another city.
