Srinivasasainagendra named UAB Employee of the Year
Vinodh Srinivasasainagendra came to UAB as a student a little more than 10 years ago. Now, the statistician and bio-informatician in the Section of Statistical Genetics is the 2009-10 UAB Employee of the Year. He was selected from this past year’s employee of the month recipients.

UAB’s Partridge begins term as American Cancer Society president
Edward Partridge, M.D., has been a part of the American Cancer Society (ACS) from the day he finished his gynecology/oncology training at the UAB School of Medicine in 1973. On Friday, Nov. 5, Partridge, director of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, began his one-year term as president of the ACS National Board of Directors. He knows how to get things done, and he has work to do.

Statewide vote to be held Nov. 2
A statewide election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2. UAB Hospital, UAB Highlands and all of UAB Medicine encourage employees to vote. Voting hours are such that most employees may vote either before or after work.

Dancing with the Silver Stars fundraiser to benefit CFA
