Student Demo Day introduces UAB student startup companies

Students are ready to pitch their businesses following the latest Commercialization Accelerator cohort.

demo day streamMax Polec, director of the UAB Commercialization Accelerator program, leads Demo Day this past Spring. On Nov. 29, the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will unveil its newest class of student entrepreneurs during Student Demo Day.

The pitch event marks the conclusion of the Student Commercialization Accelerator program, an intensive 10-week boot camp where students work on startup ideas and receive the training and mentorship needed to successfully launch a business.

Birmingham’s business community will gather at the Velocity Accelerator in Innovation Depot to meet the 30 students from the fall cohort and hear pitches for a range of startup businesses and nonprofit ventures.
