HuangJoomlaKai Huang, a third-year dental student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Dentistry, has been elected vice president of the American Student Dental Association’s House of Delegates, which represents all 66 United States dental schools and 30 university predental chapters.

“Being vice president of ASDA is something I never thought I would have the courage to do,” Huang said. “I am very excited to serve the organization and as a representative of UAB. When I go to external dental conferences, I am representing not only the voices of dental students across the county, but the UAB School of Dentistry, and I hold that responsibility proudly.”

Previously, Huang served as a trustee on ASDA’s board as national predental consultant, as vice president of the UAB’s ASDA chapter and as predental committee chair for ASDA District Five. Huang has also written for several ASDA publications and has presented in conferences locally and nationally.

Huang is originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and immigrated to the United States as a teenager.
