Robin Ennis, Ph.D., associate professor and special education program director in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Education, was recently elected president of the professional organization Council for Exceptional Children’s Division for Emotional and Behavioral Health, starting July 1, 2023.

“It has been an honor to serve on the DEBH executive committee since 2014, and I’m excited to assume the role of president for the 2023-2024 academic year,” Ennis said. “Members of DEBH are committed to supporting individuals with emotional and behavioral needs by identifying evidence-based practices, empowering educators to meet their needs, and advocating for better resources and supports. I consider DEBH my academic home and hope more service providers of students with emotional and behavioral disorders can learn about the benefits of DEBH membership.”

The DEBH is an international community of educators dedicated to advancing the success of children and youth with or at risk of emotional and behavioral disorders. DEBH offers support and recognition to those individuals who are new to the field and those with longstanding dedication to student success.
