More than 40,000 women die annually from breast cancer. However, annual mammography can reduce this risk. Together, the UAB Departments of Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) are encouraging women to prioritize their breast health and awareness.

The Heersink School of Medicine communications staff sat down with Dr. Lewis Zhichang Shi to gain insights about the research of this study, UAB, and the science community.

Mona Fouad, M.D., senior associate dean of Diversity and Inclusion, joined UAB's Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as associate vice president on July 1. She will maintain her role as senior associate dean while also serving as the associate vice president.

As I begin the transition to a new career, my hope is that the achievements we have accomplished together here at UAB will continue to multiply.
