Students and a professor from the Department of Art and Art History will join students and faculty from Iowa State University to collaboratively install and present artworks.
Department of Art and Art History Interim Chair Jessica Dallow will co-curate the three all-women group art exhibitions, with a panel discussion for the first show at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7.
Faculty and staff from the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History, Department of Music and Department of Theatre explore their skills locally and abroad.

Digital projection and animation projects by faculty and students from the Department of Art and Art History were created in response to artist Jessica Angel’s installation “Facing the Hyperstructure.”
The exhibition will feature two major series of works by Sandlin, “A Sinner’s Progress: A Modern Moral Journey” and “76 Manifestations of American Destiny,” and will include a selection of hand-printed books, drawings and paintings.
The book “Art and Celebrity in the Age of Reynolds and Siddons” transports readers to late 18th-century London, where modern celebrity culture emerged.
An interdisciplinary team that includes Engineering, the Collat School of Business, and the College of Arts and Sciences is reaching for new heights to make UAB’s team a perennial contender.
The students were chosen from a pool of 13,000 applicants.
Class of 2017 option 2During her undergraduate experience at UAB, her creative design research focused on building awareness about underprivileged communities in the city. She works with Cayenne Creative.
The winning entries will be displayed in the Global Eye Exhibition, which opens Friday, April 21, in the new UAB INTO space located in the Sterne Library.
Five students will travel to Israel, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany or Estonia to study, teach or conduct research for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The Department of Art and Art History’s BFA exhibition is a highlight of students’ BFA undergraduate career. A free opening reception is set for 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 28.
UAB Department of Art and Art History students and faculty will help the students bring their one-of-a-kind designs to life during two workshops. The shoes will be auctioned at the Growing Kings Chucks & Tux fundraiser.
During the presentation of “Flat Granny and Me: A Procession in My Mind,” Department of Art and Art History students from Jenny Fine’s class The Collected Narrative will have their own collaborative installations on view.
Eleven students will attend the conference, with registration paid by donors. Exhibitions by student and professional artists are planned at Sloss and around Birmingham, including UAB’s Project Space.
Works by 37 Department of Art and Art History students selected by visiting artist Jessica Angel will be on exhibition in the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts.

“Graphic Means” documents graphic design production from the 1950s through the 1990s. The screening is free for all UAB ID holders, including students and employees.
