Bicycle challenge to benefit the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center

Cycliad, a four-week, 1,300-mile bicycling challenge, will conclude in Birmingham on May 3 with a celebration at Railroad Park and an opportunity for community riders to participate.

cycliad streamBirmingham’s Cycliad event, a bicycle challenge to raise funds to support patient programs of the UAB Health System Cancer Community Network, is set to take place on Sunday, May 3, at Railroad Park, with a celebration that includes a Kids Fun Ride, 10-mile ride and 62-mile metric century.

Cycliad, new to Birmingham, is a one-of-a-kind, 1,300-mile, four-weekend cycling challenge that begins in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on April 10 and ends in Birmingham on May 3. In addition to celebrating the completion of this cycling challenge, the Birmingham community has a unique opportunity to participate through the Community Ride, which supports a critical patient-navigator program for patients of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

  • 8 a.m., 62-mile metric century ride begins
  • 9:30 a.m., 10-mile ride begins
  • 10:30 a.m., Kids Fun Ride begins
  • 1:45 p.m., Closing ceremony
  • Food trucks, bands and kids activities throughout the whole event
