UAB Business and Auxiliary Services provides important enterprise-wide services to the campus and medical center for UAB students, patients, faculty, staff, alumni and guests. These services include Real Estate Management (acquisitions/ divestments /leasing), Parking and Transportation Services, Physical Security, Printing and Mailing Services, Bartow Arena Operations, Pager Communications, Travel Services, and Warehouse Services. Our mission is to support the entire UAB enterprise in achieving the overall UAB mission in a customer friendly, efficient manner. Announcements
Announcement of New Director of Printing and Mailing ServicesThe Business and Auxiliary Services Department is very pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Paula Blackwell Mitchell as Director, Printing and Mailing Services effective April 8, 2013. Paula has been in the printing industry for over 21 years, including serving in a leadership role with UAB Printing and Mailing Services for the last 10 years, where she has been responsible for the Digital Print and Copy Services division. She is eager to continue the success and national recognition that the UAB Printing and Mail Operation has achieved and shares that she looks forward to meeting with everyone very soon to discuss her vision and initiatives.
Parking and Transportation

Real Estate Services
The Real Estate Office handles all real estate transactions involving the purchase, sale and leasing of property. As UAB grows, purchases are needed to accommodate new buildings and parking. Gifts given to the University often come in the form of property. If UAB cannot use the property for its academic and research mission, these properties are placed on the market for sale.
Printing and Mailing
UAB Printing & Mailing, located on UAB's campus, is your source for print, copy and mail services. We house a USPS Contract Post Office, and we are proud members of the In-Plant Printing & Mailing Association (IMPA) and the Printing Industries of America (PIA).Physical Security

Educational Foundation
The UAB Educational Foundation exists for the sole purpose of supporting the University of Alabama at Birmingham in its scientific and educational mission. This support includes managing and disbursing funds, acquiring real property, and providing general operational flexibility for the benefit of the University.AdTrav Travel Services
The UAB Travel Center, in association with AdTrav Travel Management, assists UAB employees not only with travel arrangements involving university official business, but with their personal vacations as well. The UAB Travel Team is a special team of travel agents that is familiar with UAB policies and procedures.
Warehouse and Moving
UAB Warehouse Services consists of Gas Cylinder Operations, Moving Services, Shipping & Receiving and Warehousing. The Gas Cylinder Operations orders and supervises delivery of all cylinder gases for the campus (not including the hospital). Moving Services provides prompt, courteous, inexpensive services for the University, including intra-office, inter-office, or across-campus movement of furniture, equipment or other items. Shipping & Receiving processes and delivers the majority of all incoming packages and ships most outgoing packages for the University. Additionally, the Warehouse provides limited storage space at excellent rates! Bartow Arena
Bartow Arena is a multipurpose facility serving the needs of UAB, and guests of UAB. Our mission is to provide quality service in a safe, clean environment and in an efficient and professional manner.
Bell Wallace Gym and Practice Fields
Managed by UAB Business and Auxiliary Services, the Bell/Wallace Gymnasium is a multi-purpose facility that is utilized as the venue for activities ranging from Intercollegiate basketball, volleyball practices, and any Intercollegiate sport that need an indoor facility in case of inclement weather. UAB Athletics and the UAB Human Studies Departments are the main users, but the facility can also be rented by other UAB groups for various activities.
Two outdoor areas are also managed by UAB Business and Auxiliary Services, the football/track field located on 12thstreet and 7th avenue and the tennis courts located on 11th avenue and 15th street.
