If you are on any kind of International Visa (even if it’s not a student visa), please contact Stacye Fraser Thompson in the UAB ISSS Office to make sure that everything is in order for you to register and take classes at UAB and that you are taking the correct number of hours that your visa allows/requires. Deferred Admission InformationIf you have changed your plans in any way and do not plan to participate in IEM for the Fall, please let us know ASAP. If you let us know before the seminar starts in August, we can probably defer your admission to the next class. If not, you will likely have to go through the entire admission process again. Contact us here
New Clients Questions About Scholarships
Some of you have already inquired about the admissions scholarships and when you expect to receive those. You can expect those to post to your student account around September 15. I will get the letters out soon and they should answer all your questions.

Microsoft Software Licensing
Students are licensed only for Microsoft Forefront and some server products. Students may purchase a four-year subscription to Office 365 University (current price $79.99) that includes all Office products and other features. More information is online under the Students tab.
UAB has WIFI access for all registered clients in IEM. You must be registered for a course at the time to get access. For details to how to connect – see UAB WiFi.
While many do NOT buy parking decals, it is your choice. Since we start early often parking is not to much of an issue – but no guarantees. Use the following link to find out more about parking at UAB: Parking
Most IEM classes meet in the Business Engineering Complex (BEC) which is at 1150 10th Avenue South. Sometimes we meet in Hoehn, which is at 1075 13th Street.
The BlazerID is critical. Once you are accepted to graduate school, you should get a BlazerID ASAP. Use the following link to get a BlazerID: BlazerID.
Once accepted to the graduate school, you may register. Details will be given in a email to you, or you can do so by contacting Maria at 205.934.8480.
