The Service Award Program is designed to recognize and express appreciation to employees at each five year milestone who have completed five or more years of service to UAB. The presentation for non-hospital employees will take place in March for those having completed the required years of service by December 31 of the preceding year.

Recognition for active employees with 5, 10 and 15 years of service:
To acknowledge employees who reach the 5, 10 and 15 year milestone, service pins and certificates are distributed by HR to campus departments. We encourage departments to present the pin(s) and provide recognition to recipients in a meaningful way.
Recognition for active employees with 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service:
Employees who reach each of these increasingly impressive milestones are invited to a luncheon on behalf of UAB President Ray L. Watts. They will be presented with a service award pin and certificate recognizing their years of service and have the opportunity to select a gift of gratitude from our selection based on the number of years being recognized. The Service Award Program offers Web-based ordering of gifts from Eagle Recognition. To access the ordering website, you must use the password provided to you in your service award packet.
Hospital Employee Service Awards
Hospital employees are presented their service awards during June each year. Awards to employees for 5, 10, and 15 years of service are presented by their supervisors or department heads in their departments. Hospital employees with twenty or more years of service are honored with a luncheon and presentation of pins.
