This training grant is an Institutional Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) T32 grant funded by the NHGRI within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), created to prepare postdoctoral trainees for careers in academic settings with encouraged specialization in genomic medicine. Specifically, it assists trainees in obtaining skills necessary for the conception, planning, and conduct of research in genomic medicine and subsequent presentation and publication of results. Selected trainees have the option of conducting their research either at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham or HudsonAlpha Institute for biotechnology, Huntsville.
