Many University of Alabama at Birmingham organizations, departments and programs will join with off-campus groups to offer top-of-the-line services to students and the Birmingham community at the 15th Annual Step Up to Health and Wellness Fair. The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the main gym at the UAB Campus Recreation Center.
Some of last year’s on-campus organizations included Active Minds, Recycling and Sustainability, 1917 Clinic, Disability Support Services, and Student Counseling Services. Alabama Vaccine Research Clinic, Mountain High Outfitters, Alabama Partners for Clean Air and Magic City Acceptance Center have all previously attended.
Activities will include chair massages, free health screenings, cooking demonstrations, a blood drive and learning how to live a healthier lifestyle. Select tables at the fair will have free swag for event attendees, and students will have the opportunity to win prizes by entering drawings.
Entry is free to all students, staff and Birmingham residents. For more information, visit www.uab.edu/universityrecreation.
