The University of Alabama at Birmingham Division of Student Affairs and Veteran Services are honoring veterans in the community for the inaugural Veterans Day 5K on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 8 a.m. at the UAB Mini Park.
Proceeds from the 5K directly support the UAB Veteran Relief Fund. This award provides assistance to UAB veteran and active-duty students regarding housing, health care, textbooks and other necessities that students need in order to be successful.
Registration is currently open and available to all UAB staff, faculty, students and community members. Entry fees vary depending on which category participants fall under. All 5K contenders will receive an event T-shirt and finisher medal in their race pack.
