A mouse model for cystic fibrosis, these mice were created by introducing a single nucleotide change into an exon of the mouse CFTR gene. This mutation corresponds to the human CFTR-G542X mutation, the most common mutation found in CF patients. The homozygous CFTR-G542X -/- mice exhibit a severe CF phenotype.
