Van service for employees with limited mobility begins Aug. 21
Just in time for the fall semester, UAB Parking and Transportation will launch BlazeRide, a new van service program that will operate 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and provide door-to-door accessible transport.

UAB’s Quang Do to present at statewide poetry event
Quang Do, coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life for UAB Student Involvement and Leadership, is a Student Affairs professional by day and a renowned poet by night. He will be the featured at the Poetry Out Loud state finals in Montgomery on Monday, Feb. 20 at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Birmingham 101 series pays tribute to Parker High School
The Birmingham 101 series continues this semester with a focus on the historic A.H. Parker High School on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the UAB Hill Student Center Ballroom. The evening begins with a 5 p.m. reception, followed by a panel discussion at 6 p.m. and a Q&A session at 7:30 p.m. All events in the series are free and open to the public.

The UAB student organization Donor to Diner, along with UAB Campus Restaurants, will host its second meal donation event at the Commons on the Green. Donor to Diner allows students to donate a meal to benefit fellow Blazers facing food insecurity.

UAB students go into the streets to aid the Birmingham community
On Saturday, Oct. 24, more than 500 UAB students met at the Campus Rec Center before dispersing out into the city to participate in service projects. Into the Streets is put on by the Leadership and Service Council twice per year, in October and March.
