David Fabrycki, UAB’s executive chef, has been named the Sodexo District Executive Chef for the Alabama region. In his new role with Sodexo, Fabrycki will oversee the culinary programs of five other schools in the Alabama Region, including Jacksonville State University, Gadsden State Community College, and Troy University.

He started his culinary journey at Johnson and Wales University in Norfolk, VA. Fabrycki joined Sodexo in 2017 as a resident dining chef and became a member of the UAB Campus Dining team in 2019.

“I love UAB. It truly is the best team I’ve ever been a part of,” said Fabrycki. “I’ve built strong relationships and I’ve been able to have a sense of freedom when creating dishes. I’m excited to branch out and serve other universities, but I’m just as excited to still call UAB ‘home.”

Brian Bowser, resident district manager, says, “this is a fantastic opportunity for Chef Fabrycki. He is one of the most driven professionals I've ever gotten to work with. Chef Fabrycki continues to innovate and elevate our dining experiences on the UAB campus since his arrival in 2019.  We are elated for him to be recognized throughout the organization and look forward to Chef Fabrycki taking UAB best practices throughout the state."
