UAB Career Center has teamed up with JCPenney to host Suit Up for Success, a special night of shopping exclusively for UAB students. The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the JCPenney at Riverchase Galleria (2300 Riverchase Galleria, Hoover, AL). The store will be closed to the public, and students may bring their parents to assist with purchases.

Through this initiative, UAB Career Center aims to help students prepare to present themselves in a positive light – not only for interviews with potential employers and internships, but also when interviewing for leadership positions with student groups, making class presentations, or serving as hosts/hostess for sponsored group events with which they participate. Suit Up for Success will feature suits, as well as business attire such as khakis, collared shirts, dresses and more. The ultimate event goal is to help students transition from college to career.

Additional offerings include:

• Giveaways and prizes, including Sephora makeup samples, gift certificates and more
• An extra 40% discount – in addition to the lowest sales price – on select men’s and women’s career dress apparel (including suits, dresses, sports coats, dress pants, shoes and accessories).
• Free salon, beauty and retail consultations – associates will be available to teach students how to tie a tie, provide suit measurements, demonstrate appropriate interview attire, makeup and hairstyle tutorials and much more.

The ultimate goal is for a student to be able to purchase a suit, shirt, and tie (if applicable) for less than $100 after discounts and sales price. Students can show their ID to receive a special discount card.
