To honor this, the Heersink School of Medicine Office for Diversity and Inclusion spotlights a strong movement for change in Alabama. This program, Live HealthSmart Alabama (LHSA), makes its home here at UAB.
LHSA is a transformational initiative centered on making good health simple for all Alabamians. With a network of more than 100 partners, trusted community relationships, proven revitalization strategies, and layered programming, it strives to decrease the incidence of chronic disease and provide more significant health equity across the state.
