| Satinder P. Singh M.D., FCCP, FNASCI, FSABI completed his medical school at the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, followed by a radiology residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and subsequently at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He completed both a Cardiopulmonary Radiology and a Thoracic MRI Fellowship at UAB. Dr. Singh served as staff radiologist as well as the Acting Chief of Radiology at the Birmingham VA Medical Center before joining faculty in the Cardiopulmonary Radiology Section at UAB. He also holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Singh serves as the Director of Cardiac CT, Chief of Cardiopulmonary Radiology, CT Modality Chief and Director of the Combined Cardiopulmonary and Abdominal Imaging Fellowship Program in the Department of Radiology. He has served as Chief of the 3D lab for four years. He also served two three-year terms as a member of the UAB Faculty Council for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (APT). He is a member of the department's Resident Education and APT Committee in addition to serving on the Radiology Quality Council. Dr. Singh has received many teaching awards including "Best Lecturer" by the medical students, multiple Louisville Slugger awards by senior residents for "Best Board Reviewer" and the UAB Department of Radiology Teacher of the Year Distinguished Faculty Award. His research interests include cardiac CT role in myocardial perfusion, pulmonary HTN, TAVR, and LVAD; dynamic airway imaging, neoplastic and inflammatory conditions of the lung and pleura and 3D imaging. Dr. Singh has been instrumental in decreasing CT radiation as well as contrast dose for several CT angiographic studies. Lately, he has been involved in several novel innovation projects. He is active in many national radiological organizations and serves on multiple national committees for the North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, Society of Thoracic Radiology and Society of Cardiac CT.
