Husameddin El Khudari, M.D., graduated summa cum laude with first rank from the Medical College at Garyounis University (Currently Benghazi University) in Benghazi, Libya. Initially, he pursued a career in surgery and obtained the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (MRCS). He then moved to United States where he completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, Massachusetts, followed by an Interventional Radiology fellowship at UAB. He is currently an assistant professor in the Division of Interventional Radiology and the Director of Interventional Radiology Medical Student Education.

Dr. El Khudari is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and practices the full spectrum of Interventional Radiology. His areas of interest and expertise include interventional oncology (trans-arterial chemoembolization, trans-arterial radioembolization and percutaneous ablations), portal hypertension interventions, Biliary interventions, Kyphoplasty and pain management and percutaneous breast cryoablation. Additionally, he has a special interest in diversity and IR expansion both nationally and internationally.
