The 2019 course schedule includes individual courses and the opportunity to pursue a certification in project management.

“The project management certification offers crucial knowledge, usable skills and significant qualifications to advance professionals in today’s project management world,” said Cori Perdue, director of Professional Education in the Collat School of Business. “Participants will gain hands-on experience to apply in their careers as they manage projects and teams contributing to the overall success of their companies.”

In 2019, two new classes will be offered by the Collat School of Business alongside the traditional project management foundations course. These include a Project Management Professional test preparation class and a hands-on workshop to learn advanced Microsoft Project skills. Students taking all three courses will receive a total of 44 hours of combined face-to-face and online instruction, meeting the education requirements needed to sit for the PMP or the Certified Associate in Project Management exams.

The Project Management Foundation Course will be offered on five Saturdays in January and February from 8 a.m.-noon. The course will also be offered Fridays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. during the summer and fall.

The PMP Certification Test Prep Class will be offered Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 8 a.m.-noon, with additional summer and fall dates to be announced at a later date. The four-hour, in-person class comes with additional online study tools and practice questions. It will help participants understand the logic behind answers, utilize a test bank of practice questions, engage in interactive discussions with certified PMPs and take a comprehensive practice test.

The Project Management Microsoft Project Workshop will be offered Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 8 a.m.-noon, with additional summer and fall dates to be announced at a later date. Participants will learn advanced Microsoft Project skills and will have time to work on individual projects with one-on-one help. Students should walk away with a greater understanding of Microsoft Project and at least one project entered into the project management software for future use.
