The recognition highlights top performers in supply chain management as measured by supply expense at the facility level, as well as for select departments such as pharmacy, laboratory, imaging, radiology, blood services, cardiology and surgical services. UAB was one of five Vizient academic medical center members named as a top performer in this award category.

“With 1,157 beds and 600,000 outpatient encounters per year, UAB is one of the largest academic medical centers in the nation, making the efficient management of supplies essential to everything we do,” said Will Ferniany, Ph.D., CEO of the UAB Health System. “This recognition from Vizient reflects on the hard work and dedication of all employees who touch any aspect of our supply chain. They are an essential and integral component of our success.”
