armand fernandezArmand Fernandez, a junior in health-related programs from Fort Payne, wants to establish a fast, free and discreet condom-delivery service to UAB students living in residence halls. UAB Condom SEXpress is built around a sexual health-educated peer delivery system that will be available even when health centers and convenience stores are closed, Fernandez explains.

“When college students choose to be sexually active on their own terms, I want them to know that there are options available,” Fernandez said. “I don’t want someone’s inability to find a condom to increase their risk of unprotected sex. I want students to feel empowered by their choice of having safe sex and to not feel scared, worried or embarrassed about talking about their personal sex lives in the appropriate context.”
