The UAB Division of Student Affairs has many exceptional staff members who serve our students with professionalism, kindness and integrity. Each month, based on a pool of nominations, the Professional Development Committee announces the Employee of the Month.

The May Employee of the Month is Julia Sanford, a counselor for Student Counseling Services. Her exemplary work ethic and commitment to the Division of Student Affairs mission make her a staffer to be revered.

She exemplifies daily what it means to be an empathetic and knowledgeable practitioner. Her clinical skills are unmatched, and whenever there is a difficult situation, she is always the first to jump in and use her expertise to ensure student needs are met swiftly and professionally.
